Why Do 9 Out of 10 New Companies Choose Jira Cloud
It was the year 2002. Friendster was the preferred social network, and Internet Explorer had a 95% market share.
A lot has changed since then. Server offerings have become popular among the world's top brands, and the way businesses use technology to get things done has evolved.
To stay competitive, it was necessary to adapt products to how businesses use technology — shifting the work to the Cloud. Ten years ago, the first Cloud products were launched, allowing companies to choose the best hosting option for their needs. The Cloud platform rose and quickly became an industry leader in Cloud security, reliability, privacy, and compliance. With all the benefits and rewards that come with scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency, it's no surprise that today 90% of new Atlassian customers choose Cloud first. However, we know that the majority of customers have not yet made the transition.
Therefore, we are making it as easy as possible for Server and Data Center customers to explore the Cloud before moving away from their self-hosted solutions.
EXTENDED CLOUD TRIALS FOR JIRA AND CONFLUENCE
Starting today, we are excited to announce that we are offering extended Cloud trials to all Server and Data Center customers to help them explore, evaluate, and transition to Cloud for free over time. Extended Cloud trials provide free and full access to an equivalent Jira Cloud and/or Confluence Cloud license for a minimum of 60 days or the remaining maintenance period of the license to be migrated (whichever is longer). Extended Cloud trials are available for Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, Jira Core, and Confluence, allowing in-house customers to try both Standard and Premium Cloud plans.
TOP 5 REASONS COMPANIES ARE MOVING TO THE CLOUD
As we continue to improve our platform, we uphold our commitment to providing the best Atlassian experience for all teams using our Cloud products. One way to do this is to research and understand the needs of our customers of all sizes and industries. While each organization makes the transition for various reasons, we have found that the following factors are the most significant drivers compelling companies to make the switch:
Increased speed: Teams can set up faster and scale new instances rapidly or close old ones within minutes.
Enhanced productivity: Manual upgrades on nights and weekends are a thing of the past, and teams can allocate their time and resources to their customers instead of maintaining tools.
Reduced administrative costs: Physical hardware, maintenance, and other hidden management costs can be expensive. Organizations can save more money by moving to the Cloud with lower infrastructure costs.
Scale securely: Companies can protect their data with built-in data security audits, robust disaster recovery tools, and encryption that safeguards data during migration and in use.
Future-ready teams: Teams have instant access to the latest features, product improvements, and integrations with other leading Cloud systems, along with a rich mobile experience to access projects from anywhere, on any device. Ultimately, companies choose Cloud because it allows them to focus on their core business and mission. Cloud is not the future; it's the present, and we want to ensure that self-hosted customers have a clear and smooth transition path when they are ready to make the move.
